Manage Symptoms and Improve Functional Mobility

Physical therapy can relieve pain using postural training, muscle strengthening, and flexibility exercises during and after pregnancy to address changes in posture, joint mobility, muscle imbalances, and bony alignment.

    Our licensed speech and language pathologists offer therapies including:

    • VitalStim Swallowing Therapy
    • Aural Rehabilitation
    • Augmentative-Alternative Communication
    • Speech and Language Rehabilitation

    Speech and language pathologists also manage deficits in language by stroke and brain injury, swallowing disorders that can accompany neurological trauma, and evaluating swallowing ability and recommending diets and strategies to improve swallowing deficits.

    Our therapy team utilizes the Graston® technique and trigger point dry needling along with many other modalities to treat everything from plantar fasciitis to sacroiliitis. If you have pain from an accident, injury or a degenerative condition, therapy may help.

    Our osteoporosis prevention and treatment program offers education on exercise and nutrition in addition to a therapy program that includes weight bearing and cardiovascular exercise. We also offer whole body vibration therapy that may be helpful to individuals to prevent bone loss.

    We offer treatment for a variety of conditions for women that would benefit from pelvic therapy as teens, through pregnancy and/or menopause.  Men may also experience pain or incontinence, especially following prostate surgery. Unresolved pelvic floor issues may lead to sexual dysfunction in both men and women. Our physical therapists are specially trained to use both internal evaluation and biofeedback to assess the integrity of the pelvic floor muscles and determine the best treatment for you. 

    Lymphedema refers to swelling that generally occurs in your arms or legs.  It is commonly caused by the removal of or damage to your lymph nodes as a part of cancer treatment. Our therapists treat patients with the following techniques:

    • Manual lymphatic drainage
    • Vasopneumatic pump
    • Therapeutic exercise
    • Aquatic therapy
    • Compression bandaging
    • Kinesiotaping

    Our warm water therapy pool helps alleviate pain and increase movement to treat a variety of diagnoses. The pool helps advance patients from an acute/healing state to a strengthening/wellness state.

    Woman’s Audiology offers hearing screenings, hearing aids and custom earmolds for men, women, and children at Woman’s Center for Wellness.
