Information for the Uninsured or Underinsured

Woman’s is committed to providing access to quality healthcare for the community, and to treating all of our patients with dignity, compassion and respect.

We recognize that uninsured or underinsured patients have special needs as they seek to use our health-care services. We have processes in place to assess the financial status of uninsured and underinsured patients in order to help them possibly secure coverage or take advantage of special programs within Woman’s Hospital. 

Financial Assistance Program

Our financial counselor(s) can assist you in determining if you qualify for this program. They can be reached by telephone at 225-924-8354, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM 3:30 PM. 

Amounts Generally Billed

If you receive financial assistance under our policy, you will not be charge more for medically necessary services than the amount we generally bill patients having commercial insurance.

Louisiana Medicaid Program

Medicaid is a state program to help pay medical bills for people who qualify for services. Our financial counselor(s) are available to help you with the application process. Applications are taken by appointment only Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM 3:30 PM. Call 225-924-8354 to schedule an appointment.

Self Pay Discounts

All self-pay patients receive a discount on charges. If you are planning to have inpatient or outpatient services, please call our Patient Access office at 225-924-8120, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-3:30 PM.

Cash Packages 

Patients are eligible for cash package pricing for non-complicated delivery services. These cash packages cover the Woman’s Hospital services. Cash packages must be paid in advance of receiving services, and claim forms will not be provided. For more information, call our Patient Access office at 225-924-8120, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-3:30 PM.
