Woman’s Hospital Announces Sophia Solomon as New Senior Vice President of Quality

BATON ROUGE, La. – Woman’s Hospital is pleased to announce that Sophia Solomon has joined the team as the new senior vice president of quality. In her new role, Solomon will use her more than 30 years of experience in healthcare leadership and clinical expertise to strategically lead regulatory compliance efforts and ensure Woman’s continues the highest standard of patient care and excellence.

Among Solomon’s many achievements, she has spent more than three decades advancing patient care, delivering quality care, contributing to excellence in healthcare leadership, leading crisis and operations management, and policy development. Most recently, she served as the vice president of quality, performance improvement, risk and safety at the Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Solomon has received several honors for her work, including being named Louisiana Great 100 Nurse, the Baton Rouge District Nurses Excellence Award, and was selected for the 2023 HCA Healthcare Sponsorship, McKinsey Academy Executive Leadership Program.
A native of Louisiana, Solomon earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Southern University in Baton Rouge and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Grambling State University. She is a licensed registered nurse and ANCC board certified nurse executive. Solomon is a member of various professional organizations including the American Nurses Association.
