Moody’s Upgrades Woman’s Hospital Credit Rating

Today, Woman’s Hospital announced Moody’s Credit Ratings has upgraded Woman’s Hospital Foundation (WHF) rating to A-1 with a stable outlook. This improved credit rating reflects Woman’s solid financial foundation and long-term pursuit of high standards.

It not only strengthens our creditworthiness, but also allows us to reinvest in our mission, and puts us in a positive position for future initiatives and growth.”

  • The A1 rating reflects WHF's very good market position, financial performance above peers, and excellent liquidity.
  • WHF saw strong performance in 2025, defying national birth trends, while growing cancer services, the new offerings in perinatal mental health and pediatric intensive care enhance clinical depth.

Woman’s continues to be the premier choice for women’s healthcare, as the largest single delivery hospital in Louisiana delivering more than 400,000 babies, as well as having the largest Newborn Intensive Care Unit in the state. In addition, Woman’s Perinatal Mental Health Unit (PMHU), which opened last year, is the first of its kind in the state to provide in-patient mental health care for pregnant and postpartum women. This year alone, the PMHU has seen more than 280 patients from Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida.
