An Important Part of Your Hospital Stay

Whether you’re visiting a loved one or here as a patient, we can help. Before your visit, be sure to read our hospital visitation policy. Our policy outlines the who, when, and where for your visit.

You May Need To Know

SMOKE-FREE POLICY

  • We are proud to lead the way to a healthier community with a smoke-free environment.
  • Smoking is not permitted in buildings, or outside, including parking lots.

DISABILITY SERVICES

  • 24-hour TDD, 225-231-5252, and a TeleCaption television decoder.
  • Handicapped parking spaces.
  • A sign language interpreter for the hearing impaired.

PASTORAL CARE

  • Our pastoral services chaplain is available to talk with people of all faiths and can make regular visits to patients and their families.
  • Our nondenominational chapel is always open to patients, families and friends as a place for prayer, meditation, reflection or simply a place for a few quiet moments, located on the 1st floor of the hospital near Woman's Way Café.
  • To contact us, call the hospital operator: Dial 0 within the hospital or 225-927-1300 when calling from outside the hospital, or Social Services at 225-924-8456.

CONTACT A PATIENT

  • To contact a patient, please call the operator at 225-927-1300. Calls will only be forwarded to the patient's room between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
  • If the patient is still in Labor and Delivery or Surgery, she can only make outgoing calls from the telephone in her room; the telephone cannot receive incoming calls.
