Woman’s Hospital is closely monitoring the winter weather and its potential impact on appointments and elective procedures scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 21, and Wednesday, Jan. 22. Check back on this page for real-time updates on closures and changes to services.

Woman’s Hospital will remain open for inpatient and emergency care throughout the winter weather event week of Jan. 20, however the safety of our staff and patients remains our top priority.
Tuesday, Jan. 21
Due to impending weather forecasts, the following clinics, locations and services will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

All patients using Woman’s Retail Pharmacy are encouraged to fill any prescriptions they would need for the week on Monday, Jan. 20. Woman’s Retail Pharmacy will extend their hours on Monday, Jan. 20 to 7:00 PM to accommodate the demand.
Wednesday, Jan. 22:
Due to impending weather and expected hazardous road conditions, the following clinics, locations and services will closed on Wednesday, Jan. 22. Additional decisions regarding operations and closures will be posted as they are made.

Local forecasts predict continued severe winter weather conditions on Tuesday, Jan. 21, including the possibility of snow, whiteout conditions, icing of major roadways and power outages with impacts lasting late into the week.

Winter Weather Tips and Resources
- Avoid unnecessary travel.
- Visit www.511la.org for the most up-to-date travel advisories.
- Walk Like a Penguin! Point your feet slightly outward, keeping your center of balance underneath you, and walk flat on your feet.
- Use wood stoves, fireplaces, or space heaters carefully. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and make sure they are at least 3 feet away from drapes, furniture, or bedding.
- Generators should be located at least 20 feet from any window, door, or vent and in a space where rain and snow will not reach them.
- Eating well-balanced meals will help you stay warmer. Alcoholic or caffeinated beverages cause your body to lose heat faster.
