Woman's Hospital Welcomes New Year Baby 2026

Woman’s Hospital is excited to announce that the New Year started with the special delivery of Baby Blossom, who was born at midnight. She is the hospital’s first baby of the year. Proud parents Gabrielle and Gerard celebrated the arrival of their beautiful baby girl at 12:01 AM on Jan. 1, 2026. Baby Blossom weighed 6 lbs., 3.8 oz., and measured 19 inches long. Mom and baby are both doing well.

To mark the occasion, Woman's presented a gift basket to the family that was filled with books, baby essentials, and a "New Year Baby" onesie. With approximately 8,000 babies born a year at Woman’s, Blossom is the first of many memorable arrivals expected this year.

As of the time of this release, Woman’s has delivered more than 406,000 babies since it first opened in 1968, nearly six decades ago.
