5:30 PM - 6:30 PM Memory Stroll | 6:45 PM Candlelight Reflection
Come together in quiet reflection and mutual support to honor the little ones who left too soon. Step toward healing, share stories, and know you are not alone in your journey. Walk at your own pace within the hour, and gather beside the trail start/finish.
Registration is required by October 8 for this free event. Memorial (LED) candles and water will be provided. Directions and parking information below. This is an outdoor event and will be open to the media. The one-mile walk will flow in one direction on the Harris Trail.
Light to Remember Guidelines:
- Due to limited space on the walking path, only strollers are permitted. Wagons are not permitted.
- Check-in at the event under primary contact name used for registration for your group.
- The memory stroll is a 1-mile walk in one direction around the lake.
- Baby Name signage is displayed around the walk alphabetized by last name.
- You may step to the side for a photo but please leave the memorial sign in place.
- Baby Name signs will be collected at the end of the memory stroll and will be available to take the signage as you leave.
- Candles will be distributed as you exit the memory stroll. Please limit one candle per memorial baby.
- Please refrain from touching the display candles in the candle-lighting space.
- Please note our lakes are a natural habitat for wildlife. Please avoid getting too close to the geese and other wildlife.
- Media is invited to attend.

- Saul’s Light - Supports “NICU and bereaved families through comprehensive resources and compassionate care” and advocates for equity in healthcare.
- Woman’s Perinatal Mental Health Unity -Provides “comprehensive treatment for women facing various psychiatric disorders requiring inpatient treatment during pregnancy, through one year postpartum, and those who have experienced a loss within the last year.”
- Baton Rouge Perinatal Counseling - Mental health professionals providing highly specialized counseling services in the perinatal stage that includes “any time from conception to one year postpartum and the reproductive years of life, time during family planning and fertility, and time surrounding grief and loss.”
