Summary

Dr. Taylor joined Associates in Women's Health in June of 2011. She is a native of Greensburg, Louisiana. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Louisiana State University. Dr. Taylor earned her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC. She completed residency training in OB/GYN at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, CA. Dr. Taylor is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Taylor served as Chief of the Medical Staff for Woman’s Hospital. In addition to chairing many committees at Woman’s, she was recently chair of the Credentials Committee. Dr. Taylor has many outside interests and is currently an active member in the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Medical Association, the National Medical Association, the Junior League of Baton Rouge, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Louisiana Medical Society. She volunteers as a board member of several organizations, including the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and St. Joseph’s Academy. She also enjoys playing the piano, playing tennis and spending time with her husband, Dr. Jonathan Taylor and their three daughters.

In addition to medicated deliveries, Dr. Taylor also practices the following natural childbirth options, for the low risk patient:

  • Intermittent electronic fetal monitoring during labor
  • Light diet during labor
  • Use of a certified doula
  • Ambulation during labor
  • Tub labor
  • Routine IV not required

Dr. Taylor is also skilled in Physician Assisted Robotic Surgery.
