Summary
Effective October 1, 2026, Dr. O’Neil “Jay” Parenton will step away from the private practice of medicine to begin a new chapter as Chief Physician Executive at Woman’s Hospital. Although he will no longer provide direct patient care, his commitment to advancing women’s health will remain at the heart of his work. In this new administrative leadership role, he will continue serving the women and families of our community from the hospital side of the campus.
Dr. Parenton is a board-certified OB/GYN who has proudly cared for women and families at Louisiana Women’s Healthcare in Baton Rouge. He also serves as Vice Chairman of LWH’s Board of Managers.
Dr. Parenton is deeply grateful for the trust his patients and their families have placed in him throughout his years in practice and for the meaningful relationships he has built along the way.
Outside of work, Dr. Parenton enjoys playing golf, attending LSU athletic events, and spending time with family and friends.
