Summary

Dr. Kyleigh Harrison is a Perinatal Psychiatrist with Woman’s Perinatal Mental Health Unit. She received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and minor in biology from LSU, graduated from the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport, and completed her psychiatry residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in Baton Rouge. 

Prior to coming to Woman’s, Dr. Harrison served as the chief resident of the LSUHSC Baton Rouge Residency where she assisted with recruitment, led the resident liaison committee, and worked with leadership to help bring about innovative changes. She has been recognized by LSU Health with the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award and inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

Dr. Harrison is a member of several community and professional organizations including the American Medical Association and the Louisiana Psychiatric Medical Association.

  • Chief Resident, LSUHSC Baton Rouge Psychiatry Residency: Led resident-liaison initiatives, orientation programming, and consult-liaison rotations.
  • Program Development & Education: Developed and delivered psychiatry lectures for Physician Assistant students at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University.
  • Conference Presenter: Breaking Barriers: Improving Buprenorphine Access for OUD Patients Through Better Scheduling (Louisiana Psychiatric Medical Association Conference, 2025).
  • Published Author: Co-author in Pain Control in Ambulatory Surgery Centers (Springer, 2021).
  • Community Advocate: Participated in medical mission work in Honduras, human trafficking awareness initiatives, and mentorship programs for aspiring medical students.
