Breast Surgery
Woman's Faculty

Summary

Summary

Dr. Jamie Patterson is a fellowship-trained breast surgeon dedicated to comprehensive breast cancer care. She earned her medical degree at the University of Nevada, completed an OB/GYN residency at the University of California Irvine, where she continued as academic faculty, before completing further training in breast surgical oncology at the University of Southern California. Her training under the renowned surgeon, Dr. Melvin Silverstein, the pioneer of oncoplastic breast surgery in the United States, serves her well in her pursuit of aesthetic breast-conserving cancer surgeries.

Before she moved to Louisiana to be closer to family, she served as Medical Director of another nationally-accredited all-inclusive breast center in Rhode Island and as an Associate Clinical Professor at Brown and took pride in helping to train the next generation of breast surgeons. She now continues this commitment to teaching at LSU where she contributes to Woman’s OB/GYN residency program. With a background in women’s health, Woman’s is the perfect fit for her practice and she approaches it holistically. Her focus is breast cancer surgery, but she retains interest in high risk management, breast disease, cancer in pregnancy and sexual health/menopause in cancer survivorship.

She also enjoys exploring used book stores with her husband, tickling her children, visiting with grandparents, and curling up to a classic movie in the evening. She takes great care to treat all her patients as she would her own family.
