Summary
Dr. Chris Winters is the newest member of Woman’s Urogynecology Clinic. Board-certified in urology and urogynecology, his practice has focused on evaluating and treating patients with urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, recurring infections, pelvic pain, and genitourinary symptoms of menopause.
A native of Louisiana, Dr. Winters earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center. After a fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, he returned to LSU, where he served for nearly 30 years, leading the LSU-Ochsner urology residency program and as Chairman of the Urology Department for two decades. After retiring from LSU, Dr. Winters wanted to focus on patient care and work with the outstanding doctors he was honored to train. He has been recognized for his leadership and teaching, including being named the 2009 AUA national teacher of the year, ABU president, and awarded the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award by the Society of Urodynamics and Female Pelvic Medicine. He has been recognized by Best Doctors on numerous occasions and by the National Association for Continence as a "Continence Care Champion."
Dr. Winters is excited to join Dr. Barry Hallner, a previous fellow and partner, at Woman's Hospital. He has long admired the dynamic practice of his wife, Dr. Gay Winters, a radiologist at Woman's for nearly 30 years, and is excited to join the staff.
