Summary

Dr. Calegan received his medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, where he graduated with honors. He completed his internship at Baptist Health System in Birmingham, Ala., followed by a residency in neurology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He served his final year of residency as the Chief Resident of the University of Alabama Department of Neurology.
After his residency, Dr. Calegan stayed at the University of Alabama to complete a Fellowship in Movement Disorders.

Special Interests

Dr. Calegan specializes in the treatment of Parkinson's Disease, dystonia and tremors, along with the placement and programming of deep brain stimulators, as well as special techniques for botox injections for dystonia, tremors and other neurological disorders.
