Summary

Summary

Dr. Flechas joined Woman’s Hospital medical staff in 2022. After more than 20 years in private practice with Psychiatry Associates of Baton Rouge, he joined Woman’s to pursue his passion for womens mental health care. 

He received his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed a psychiatry residency at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans. He is board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He currently serves as the medical director for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health at Woman’s Hospital. He has previously been medical director at several local inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse programs. Dr. Flechas has also been on the faculty of LSU School of Medicine as Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry for the psychiatry residency program. 

In his spare time he enjoys traveling and attending LSU sporting events with his wife Michelle, a local pediatrician. His hobbies include collecting and restoring classic cars.

Special Interests

Dr. Flechas specializes in treating womens mental health issues across all stages of life. This includes infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, menopause and female cancers. He is an expert in treatment of anxiety, depression, Bipolar Disorder, insomnia, PTSD, PMDD, and ADHD. He is accepting new patients exclusively by referral from Woman’s Hospitals physicians.
