Special Interests

His interests include all aspects of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, including microvascular breast reconstruction and aesthetic surgery.  He has extensive training in all aspects of breast reconstruction, including the latest techniques in free tissue transfer – reconstructing the breast with the patient’s own tissue instead of using implant based reconstruction.

Dr. Freel performs the DIEP Flap Procedure for breast reconstruction, which uses the patient’s own abdominal tissue to remake the breast without sacrificing the abdominal muscles, as was the case in older procedures.
