Your Hospital Stay After Delivery

Now that you’ve held them in your arms, you’ll never want to let them go.

We know that once you’ve met your new baby, they becomes your entire world. As part of our family-centered approach, we offer couplet care for you and your newborn. A dedicated nurse will care for you and your baby in the same room, so you have more time to bond.

Your baby will be at hand while you learn to care for them, with their own bassinet right next to your bed. Your Mother/Baby nurse will help answer any questions while you're getting to know your newborn.

Your baby's pediatrician will examine your baby in your room, offering you another opportunity to learn to care for your baby before you go home.

We encourage new moms to keep their babies in their rooms, but we also have nurseries for babies who need special attention.

Nurseries

The Transition Nursery is a place for newborns who may need additional monitoring following birth, but whose conditions are not serious enough to require treatment in our Newborn and Infant Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

In the Newborn and Infant Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nursery, we focus our attention on babies who require specialized care. Conditions may range from low birth weight to critical intensive care and the need for a long-term (up to 12 months) learning environment. Each baby's condition is monitored at all times using the latest and most advanced equipment and technology available.

The NICU nursery is equipped with single-family rooms. We adopted this layout after gaining insight from our NICU staff, families of patients and hospitals around the world. The private rooms allow medical staff to focus on each infant's specific needs, while giving moms and dads personal space to bond with their baby.
