Director of Education, Mammography Educators
Louise Miller is the Founder and former Director of the Mammography Practicum at the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine. She is a renowned educator and author in the field of mammography positioning and imaging quality. With over three decades of experience, she has served on national and international committees and as faculty for prestigious organizations and academic institutions worldwide. In 2017, she was honored as the Honorary Fellow by the Society of Breast Imaging for her exceptional dedication to breast cancer detection. Following her own diagnoses with breast cancer, she has furthered her commitment to education and consultation on mammography quality standards and positioning as the Director of Education for Mammography Educators.
Learning Objectives
This motivational program will challenge you to perform mammography at a high level, ultimately benefiting your patients by reducing the number of missed breast cancers and saving more lives.
- Discuss the importance of standardized positioning.
- Identify common positioning problems and how to problem solve.
- Describe proper ergonomics for mammographers.
- Understand how to critique mammographic images.
- Identify diagnostic situations where contrast mammography can add value.
