The Wall of Stars in our Labor and Delivery waiting room commemorates the birth of babies born at both the current and former Woman’s Hospital.
By purchasing a nameplate on the Wall of Stars, you not only honor the birth of a child in a memorable way, but the tax deductible portion of your gift enables Woman's to fund programs that improve the health of women and infants.
Each 3.5" x 3.5" nameplate on the Wall of Stars can be designed in one of five pink or blue shapes inscribed with the name and birth date of your loved one. An interactive touch screen allows you to look up a photo of your star from the Hall of Stars at Woman's former campus.
Purchase a Wall of Stars nameplate >> Please contact the Office of Development at (225) 924-8124 or email us.
Wall of Stars FAQs
My child had a star at Woman’s original campus. Can I claim it? Prior to the move from Woman's original campus in August 2012, hospital volunteers worked diligently to photograph and carefully remove the stars. If you would like to claim this star as a keepsake, please complete the Claim Your Star Request Form >>
Is my nameplate permanent? Displaying your magnetic nameplate on the wall may be subject to a reasonable time limitation at the discretion of the hospital. If your nameplate is removed from the wall, it will be photographed and viewable through the interactive touch screen system located on the wall.
If my physical nameplate is removed, will it be returned to me? The Office of Development will make every attempt to inform you of pending changes with your physical nameplate and return it to you.
An honor gift is a lasting way to celebrate the birth of a child, to recognize a colleague, or to remember a loved one's birthday, anniversary or other special occasion. Honor gifts can also be made to recognize a caregiver for exceptional service. An acknowledgment of the contribution is sent to the designated recipient, but your donation amount will be confidential.
A memorial gift is not only a meaningful way to express sympathy for a loved one, friend, caregiver or colleague, but it is also a precious gift to the living. The family of the person being remembered is notified of your thoughtful gift, but the amount of the gift will not be disclosed.
Honor or memorial gifts of $10,000 or more may be eligible for a campus naming opportunity. For more information, email us.
