Dr. Brent W. Allain, Jr., is a native of Franklin, LA. He is a graduate of Catholic High School in New Iberia, LA and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA.
He received his Doctorate of Medicine from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA, and then continued there for his internship and residency in general surgery with training experience in bariatric surgery.
Dr. Allain then completed a fellowship in minimally invasive, advanced laparoscopic and bariatric (weight loss) surgery at the Minimally Invasive Surgery Institute in Baton Rouge, LA. He is an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery with the LSU Department of Surgery in New Orleans, LA.

Specific weight loss procedures include: laparoscopic vertical sleeve gastrectomy, laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding, laparoscopic revisional bariatric surgery, as well as incisionless stoma reduction surgery.
