Woman’s History

Woman’s was one of the first women’s specialty hospitals in the nation, and is currently one of the largest in the United States. Opened in November 1968, Woman’s is a private, nonprofit organization that is consistently recognized for its care of women and infants.

Accreditations and Honors

Woman’s performs more than 8,500 surgeries and 35,000 breast procedures and reads more than 57,000 Pap screens. It is the largest delivery service in Louisiana and was the first Baton Rouge area hospital to achieve Nursing Magnet® status. For the past sixteen years, Woman’s has been named one of Modern Healthcare Magazine’s Top Places to Work in Healthcare.
