Kirk Rousset, MD is a native of New Orleans and has been practicing in Baton Rouge since 1984. He currently practices at Louisiana Women's Healthcare and is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director in Critical Care Obstetrics and Minimally Invasive Pelvic Surgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Rousset specializes in obstetrics and gynecology at Louisiana Women’s Healthcare. He performs reconstructive vaginal/labial surgery, minimally invasive pelvic surgery -- including total vaginal hysterectomy, laparoscopic-assisted vaginal hysterectomy, total laparoscopic hysterectomy, endometrial ablation, and hysteroscopy -- advanced gynecologic laparoscopic surgery -- including laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis and infertility, and laser laparoscopy -- and state-of-the-art DaVinci robotic surgery.
Dr. Rousset is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a member of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Medical Association, the Southern Medical Association, the American Fertility Society, the American Society of Anesthesiology, American Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists, and Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
Dr. Rousset received his Doctor of Medicine from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1979. He completed his internship and residencies in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Anesthesiology from LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans in 1983 and 1993, respectively.
