LEARNING OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Discuss awareness of body mechanics with daily occupational tasks for healthcare employees.
- Identify ergonomic flaws and adjust workstation set-up.
- Describe postural awareness and body mechanics in patient care, environmental services, and in an in office setting to decrease risk of pain and injury.
- Perform proper abdominal activation to promote safe lifting, pushing and patient transferring.
- Demonstrate proper diaphragmatic breathing at rest and eliminate Valsalva with strenuous tasks.
