Ray Daugherty, MD

Dr. Daugherty obtained his bachelor's degree at Loyola University New Orleans and then went on to obtain his medical degree from the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his general surgery residency at LSU New Orleans, followed by a Colorectal Surgery fellowship at LSU Shreveport.

He is Board Certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and in Colon and Rectal Surgery by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Additionally, he is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at LSUHSC in New Orleans.

He is also involved nationally serving on the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) young surgeons committee.

Ray "Scott" Daugherty, Jr., MD specialty is the treatment of all colorectal diseases ranging from malignant to benign.

Dr. Daugherty also offers minimally invasive approaches with advanced laparoscopic and robotic techniques (via the da Vinci Surgical System) for abdominal procedures, colonoscopy, as well as transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS) for treatment of rectal polyps and early rectal cancers.

He performs anorectal procedures for hemorrhoids, anal fissures, rectocele, anorectal abscesses and fistulas, as well as treating various other anorectal conditions.

His group provides top colorectal cancer care using a multidisciplinary team approach via the Colorectal Multidisciplinary Care Team (MDC) at Mary Bird Perkins - Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center.
