Lymphedema Therapy

Lymphedema is an incurable but manageable swelling in an arm or leg. This can be caused by either:

  • Trauma to the lymphatic system, such as that which may occur with the removal of lymph nodes or exposure to radiation treatments.
  • By an individual's genetic predisposition to the condition.

Often treatment will consist of a combination of specialized massage techniques, use of bandages and instruction in home management.
