Honored by Interactive Health for driving employees to become healthier
Woman’s Hospital has once again been named one of the “Healthiest Companies in America” by Interactive Health, whose workplace wellness program helps businesses invest in the health of their employees. Woman’s is one of 151 companies across the country, and one of only two organizations named in Louisiana, to be recognized this year for empowering employees to make significant and sometimes life-saving changes to improve their health. This is the third year Woman’s has received the award.
To win the recognition, companies must have reached or exceeded a 70 percent participation rate in their organization’s wellness program, and their workforce’s overall health risk was low, based on the results of an annual health evaluation.
When a Woman’s employee is identified as being at-risk, Interactive Health immediately intervenes with a personalized action plan, including coaching with health professionals and personal physicians. The employee is assigned an achievable goal based on his or her individual results, and health improvements are subsequently measured. Of those Woman’s employees who were determined to be at-risk based on their previous health evaluation:
- 93.2 % improved blood pressure
- 76.5% improved LDL cholesterol
- 69.7% improved triglycerides
- 61.4% improved glucose level
“Our workplace wellness program is designed to help our employees lead healthier lives,” said Donna Bodin, Woman’s Vice President of Employee & Wellness Services. “It is an honor to be recognized as one of the Healthiest Companies in America for the third year in a row.” Participants at Woman’s gain access to year-round personalized digital tools, coaching, wellness challenges, and updated health information through an annual evaluation, which empowers them to adopt new habits.
