Allissa: Before WLS
Thanksgiving 2012 at 298 pounds. I had weight-loss surgery in Dec 2012 and it was the best decision of my life. It gave me the will power I needed in the begin of this journey to reteach myself how to take care of my body.
My weight loss slowed down tremendously at month 6, being 100 lbs. down I had to work that much harder in the gym, but it felt so good after! I have really had to crack down on my eating these last few weeks and get back to the core things I learned from everyone on the Women's hospital staff, but I know now I can do it!
Allissa: 10 months
I have lost 126 lbs. from Thanksgiving last year. And a total of 123 lbs. since my surgery date December 12, 2012.
This has been my single biggest accomplishment and I am proud of where I came from and where I am today. I have had so many first like running a 5K in 31 minutes flat, my husband fitting his arms around me, losing the weight of both my kids combined, wearing skinny jeans, wearing knee boots, and actually out running my kids!
I can't wait to see what the future holds without my body holding me back. I want to lose 10-15 more, but I am so happy where I am today. I feel so incredibly Blessed to have had this awesome journey with so many amazing people in my life encouraging me!
