Prevention—centered on you
Diabetes continues to be an expensive and deadly health concern in the U.S.— and one that keeps rising. According to the American Diabetes Association, the disease rate rose 13.5% in the last two years alone. Experts agree that prevention is paramount, particularly for individuals facing “pre-diabetes” or other metabolic challenges. Woman’s Metabolic Health Clinic creates patient-specific health plans with an eye on longterm health.
Women facing gestational diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), insulin resistance/metabolic syndrome, unexplained abdominal weight gain or a strong family history of type 2 diabetes are good candidates for our Metabolic Health Clinic. Once a physician’s referral is secured, a woman begins meeting with the Clinic’s team to develop a personal plan. Experienced medical and research physicians, registered dietitians, registered nurse educators and certified exercise physiologists work with each patient on how to best manage diet, exercise and blood sugar testing.
Awareness and lifestyle changes can make a tremendous difference in managing metabolic health issues, and we can help arm women with tools for lifelong success.
