Cancer Care

While Woman's takes great pride in the cancer care we provide, we know that health screenings and early detection are essential in the treatment of cancer.

Please take advantage of our cancer screening services, including:

Breast Cancer

We offer state-of-the-art breast imaging, diagnosis, treatment, therapy, education and supportive care.

Gynecologic Cancer

Our gynecologic cancer services are coordinated by the area’s only board-certified gynecologic oncologists treating cancers including: cervical, uterine and ovarian.

Colorectal Cancer

Woman’s provides comprehensive services related to digestive care. If you’re 50 or older, getting a screening colonoscopy could save your life. Woman’s recognizes your need for privacy and is the only location in Baton Rouge to offer each patient a private room prior to and after their procedure.

Our Oncology Team

Other physician specialists – general surgeons, radiologists and medical oncologists – also provide care for women who have cancer.

The oncology unit staff of registered nurses and oncology technicians has extensive experience in the care of women undergoing surgery and treatment for several types of cancer.

Woman's Provides:

  • Inpatient and outpatient services
  • Chemotherapy administration
  • Patient education
  • Care of patients during the end stages of life

Infusion Therapy: Treating Patients’ Body & Mind

Women fighting cancer often require surgery, chemotherapy, lab tests, imaging scans, and specialized nursing care. Woman's new Infusion Center and Medical/Surgery Unit will focus on caring for a woman's body and mind by enveloping her in a calm, comfortable environment while providing exceptional cancer care.

Our cancer services are accredited by the American College of Surgeons, a voluntary certification that gives patients added assurance that they receive optimal care at Woman's Hospital. The American College of Surgeons requires accredited hospitals to provide certain services in order to maintain accreditation.
