We understand that personal situations may interfere with a patient's medical condition, treatment, recovery or safe transition to another care environment. We provide social workers, caring staff and support groups to help patients remove personal barriers that inhibit recovery.
Licensed Social Workers
Our social workers support you through many difficult situations, including:
- Financial concerns
- Physical, sexual, and emotional abuse
- Problems performing activities of daily living
- Problems related to care
- Relationship problems

Social Services Support Groups
Regular support group meetings allow families to share ideas and gain understanding about the complex issues they face.
NICU Support Group
For families with babies in neonatal intensive care, our NICU support group allows parents to interact with other parents who have gone through or are going through similar situations. For more information, call Social Services at 225-924-8456.
Pregnancy/Infant Loss Support Group
This group meets 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of each month at Woman’s Center for Wellness. Sessions are free and adult family members and friends are welcome. For more information, call Social Services at 225-924-8456.
Cancer Support
Woman to Woman Support Group for Gynecological Cancer
This monthly support group provides support and education for survivors and their families. For more information, view the Cancer Care Event Calendar or call 225-924-8456.
Breast Cancer Patient Navigator
We understand that breast cancer is a complex disease and that the treatment process can sometimes be overwhelming. Breast Cancer Patient Navigators provide women with one-on-one help throughout their breast cancer journeys by providing them with much-needed resources. They improve acess totreatment and coordination of care by helping schedule appointments, review paper work, improve physician-patient communication during treatment and provide seamless care within Woman's multidsciplinary team all the way through survivorship. Pastoral Care
For patients seeking faith-based guidance, our pastoral care Chaplain consults with patients of all faiths and their families. A nondenominational chapel is always available.
