The nurseries at Woman's are designed to give babies the special attention they need to grow and become healthy in a nurturing, positive environment.
Woman’s encourages new moms to keep their babies in their rooms for that special initial bonding, but has designed four well-baby nurseries for times when parents need additional rest. Located on the 3rd and 4th floors within the Mother/Baby pods, our well-baby nurseries are situated within close proximity to the patient rooms. Each nursery can hold up to seven infants and has a bonding room for adoptive parents.
The Transition Nursery is a place for newborns who may need additional monitoring following birth, but whose conditions are not serious enough to require treatment in our NICU. The nursery is staffed around-the-clock for 24/7 observation and care.
In the Newborn and Infant Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nursery, we focus our attention on babies who require specialized care. Conditions may range from low birth weight to critical intensive care and the need for a long-term (up to 12 months) learning environment. Each NICU patient’s condition is monitored at all times using the latest and most advanced equipment and technology available.
The NICU nursery is a single-family room design that was adopted after gaining insight from our NICU staff and from families of patients. The private rooms allow medical staff to focus on each infant’s specific needs, while giving moms and dads ample personal space to bond with their baby.
