Nutrition Manager, Melissa R. Martin, RD, LDN
Melissa R. Martin, registered dietitian and Nutrition Coordinator for Woman’s, joined the Woman’s Hospital team in 2005 working at Woman’s Center for Wellness and the hospital. Martin supervises the nutrition and wellness coaching programming provided to the local community and the clients and patients of Woman’s.
She previously worked as a clinical dietitian for Ochsner Health Center, Baton Rouge, and as director of nutritional services at VitalSource Specialty Hospital, Baton Rouge. Martin provided nutrition screening, assessment, and education to the hospital’s patients as well as supervised meal delivery.
Martin worked at Pennington Biomedical Research Center where she assisted research dietitians in program development, nutrition counseling and group education. In addition, she taught cooking classes and provided cooking demonstrations. She also provided community nutrition education and staff relief at North Oaks Health System, Hammond.
Martin graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition. She holds a Louisiana license to practice as a dietitian and nutritionist and is registered through the national commission on dietetic registration. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Louisiana and Baton Rouge Dietetic Associations and the Sports and Cardiovascular Care and the Weight Management Practice Groups.
Martin enjoys developing and providing nutrition and wellness programming to clients of all ages and of both genders. As a full-time working mother of three, she is passionate about helping families and women find nutrition balance in the midst of a busy lifestyle.
Martin encourages her team to personalize each consultation by learning about the client’s background, lifestyle habits, family history and daily environment. Understanding and recognizing human behavior and nutrition needs is foremost in determining the best plan of action to guide clients towards a healthier lifestyle and a complete feeling of well-being. Nutrition and coaching consultations aim to focus on practical down-to-earth approaches to treating your health concerns and tailoring goals to your individual lifestyle and habits.
Nutrition Supervisor, Courtney Neubauer, MS, RD, LDN
Courtney Neubauer is a registered dietitian who joined Woman’s in May 2011. She earned her dietetics degree from Louisiana State University and completed her dietetic internship at Southern University. Courtney earned her Master of Science degree in Nutrition from the University of Alabama, but still cheers for the LSU Tigers!
Courtney has worked with the Office of Public Health as a dietitian with the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children for four years, specializing in prenatal, breastfeeding, postpartum and infant nutrition. Previously, Courtney worked at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond as the production coordinator and Pennington Biomedical Research Center in the Obesity/ Taste Genetics and Nutrition Epidemiology departments.
She is a member of the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Louisiana and Baton Rouge Dietetic Associations and the Weight Management Education Practice Group. Courtney was the Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year in 2009 by the Louisiana Dietetic Association.
Courtney has had her own personal struggles with weight management and insulin resistance. She has successfully lost 100 pounds through diet and exercise. Courtney hopes that her personal experience will help her better educate her clients on weight management. Courtney’s areas of nutrition interests are insulin resistance, PCOS, teen nutrition, weight management, breastfeeding and postpartum nutrition. Courtney has a passion for motivating individuals to reach their nutrition goals.
Registered Dietitian, Jennifer Zweigle, RD, LDN
Jennifer Zweigle earned her degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Louisiana Tech University, and completed an internship at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans. As a registered dietitian, she has worked for several hospitals, including Northshore Regional Medical Center in Slidell, Pendleton Memorial Methodist Hospital in New Orleans and Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary. Her scope of practice has included inpatient and outpatient assessment and counseling, group education, cooking classes and supermarket tours. Jennifer has also worked for Fitness Design for Women in Zachary, providing nutrition counseling, developing programs and writing monthly newsletters and a weekly nutrition blog.
She joined the team at Woman’s in June 2011. Jennifer is a member of the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Nutrition and fitness have always taken a top priority in her life, and she enjoys teaching and helping others reach their health goals.
Health Coach, Pam Clary, MS, CPT
Pam Clary graduated from LSU with a BS in Zoology and then later received an MS in Fisheries Science. She started teaching exercise classes as a graduate student and has been teaching ever since! In 1988 she received her Group Exercise certification from ACE. After teaching middle school science and math for several years she decided to go back into the fitness industry and in 2006 she became an ACE certified personal trainer and later became interested in wellness coaching and will be completing her Health and Wellness Coach certification with Real Balance Global Wellness Services. She teaches several types of specialized classes that include a barre class, an introduction exercise and wellness as well as TRX training. She has been an Ideal Protein health coach since January of 2012.
Health Coach, Kristen Landry
Kristen Landry studied psychology at Southeastern Louisiana University. She has studied health and wellness for 17 years. Prior to starting at Woman's Center for Wellness, Kristen owned a wellness business with an emphasis on supplementation. She is seeking to obtain a certification in personal training and nutrition. Kristen is also a runner and triathalete.
Health Coach, Jessica Meyn
Jessica graduated in December 2009 from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Consumer Sciences concentrating in Nutrition. While obtaining her degree she worked in a chiropractor’s office that focused on holistic health. She joined Woman’s Center for Wellness in January 2013. Jessica has an affirmation for helping others with their nutritional and health needs.
Health Coach, Rosie Ford
Rosie earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Houston in May of 2012 where she was chosen as the University of Houston Health and Human Performance Outstanding Student in Fitness & Sport. She is also nationally recognized as an American Kinesiology Association Scholar. Rosie’s experience includes work at The Healthy Weigh Nutritional Counseling Center in Houston, Texas as well as the Texas Obesity Research Center, also in Houston.
Rosie possesses a genuine passion for health and fitness and enjoys helping others understand and enjoy the many benefits that can be achieved through living a healthy lifestyle. She believes in a holistic approach to wellness and has a particular interest in applying behavioral and motivational strategies to support clients in adopting and maintaining healthy lifestyle behaviors.
Rosie is excited about furthering her knowledge in Health and Fitness and is currently working on the ACSM Health Fitness Specialist Certification which will allow her to work with individuals who struggle with medically controlled diseases. Rosie also has plans to obtain a Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in Community Counseling with an emphasis on Health and Fitness.
Health Coach, Molly Husted, CI-CPT
Molly received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University, with a concentration in Human Movement. After graduating she worked as a Cooper Institute Certified Personal Trainer, motivating clients of all backgrounds to achieve their fitness goals. She also worked as a Corporate Wellness Consultant, implementing a successful wellness program which promotes overall healthy habits based on four pillars of focus: physical fitness, nutrition, healthy sleep patterns, and overall well-being.
Molly’s philosophy is to promote healthy habits while teaching useful techniques to help others achieve and maintain a happier, healthier way of life. By stimulating the brain and body throughout the day, Molly believes clients can achieve a happy and confident lifestyle. Molly has a genuine passion for overall wellness and is excited to continue her education and wellness knowledge by obtaining her Health and Lifestyles Coach Certification from American Council on Exercise.
