Ms. Johnson joined us in 1997. Ms. Johnson is responsible for nursing care across the organization as well as operational responsibility for labor and delivery, assessment center, antepartal, gyn/oncology/medical services, mother/baby, perioperative services, adult intensive care unit, nursing informatics, patient safety, and nursing administration. She also oversees the vice president responsible for infant and pediatric patient care including NICU, neonatal transport, respiratory therapy, home health, and pharmacy. Ms. Johnson received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Mississippi College in 1974, her Master in Nursing Administration from Emory University in 1987, and her certification in Advanced Nursing Administration in 2006. In 2012, she received a doctorate in Nursing Practice at the University of South Alabama. Ms. Johnson is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society for Nurses, the American Nurses Association and the Baton Rouge Chamber Leadership Alumnae. Ms. Johnson was appointed by the Governor of the State to the Louisiana State Board of Nursing in 2007. She is also the past-president of the Louisiana Organization of Nurse Executives. Ms. Johnson has been recognized as an outstanding nurse by the Baton Rouge District Nurses' Association, an Outstanding Alumnae by the Mississippi College School of Nursing in 2004 and as the outstanding nurse administrator by the Louisiana State Nurses Association in 2006.
