Aquatic Kid Fit
Aquatic Kid Fit is ideal for children ages 9 and older who have decreased strength, coordination or endurance. This group will meet one afternoon per week in our warm water therapy pool. This group exercise program is instructed by a licensed therapist. Please call 924-8709 for session availability, offered in June and July.
Swim Strong Program
Swim Strong is designed to assist boys and girls, ages 5 to 18 years, with decreased, strength, endurance and motor control. This class helps them transition from physical/occupational therapy to traditional swim lessons or to the use of a community pool. Children will work toward achieving personal goals in a fun atmosphere using games and pool toys while socializing with their teammates during class.
Swim Strong is instructed by a staff pediatric physical therapist and physical therapy assistant in the lap pool or warm water therapy pool, depending on the child’s needs. Children who are not independent in the water will have a “shadow,” or trained volunteer, throughout each session. All children will be screened by a physical therapist prior to registration to determine whether they meet criteria for class participation.
A primary goal of this class is to build independence; therefore, parents are not allowed on the pool deck. However, moms may purchase a $20, eight-day pass for use of the Fitness Club during class time.
