Woman's offers many therapy, fitness and nutrition programs that can help to speed recovery. A few of the programs offered include:
Forward Motion: Coordinated by an ACSM-certified exercise physiologist with a special interest in wellness. Our Forward Motion program is designed to help participants assume responsibility for their exercise program, while working with guidance of a qualified instructor.
Fitness Club Medical Membership: A three-month membership that allows women to experience membership without a long-term commitment, under the guidance of clinical specialists. Woman's Fitness Club offers state-of-the-art facilities for exer- cise, health and fitness training. The Fitness Club also offers its members a heated pool. With experienced trainers and a complete range of amenities, it will be easier to stay active and continue healing.
Medical Personal Training: For women who suffer with musculoskeletal impairments, muscle imbalances, conditioning, and/or rehabilitation concerns, specialized personal training is offered.
Home Care: If you are unable to leave home to go to physical therapy, your physi- cian can recommend an at home care agency. Registered nurses, home health aides, and physical therapists work with you and your family in the comfort of your home. With these in-home visits, our skilled team crafts a plan with your physician to help you achieve optimal recovery after surgery.
|When midfoot arthritis severely limited my daily activity, I realized it was time for reconstructive surgery. The doctor operated in mid-January, plating, wiring, and correcting all the defects in my foot. In three weeks I was back to work on a limited basis and in six weeks I worked my normal schedule. At three months, I have more good days than less-good days, and I am looking forwarding to being able to go “full speed ahead” in the next several months. My foot feels so much better than it did before surgery!
The nurses at Woman’s made me feel like I was the only patient that they had to take care of that day. And the soothing music in the preop and patient room helped me relax before and after surgery.
Foot surgery was the best thing that happened to me this year, and Woman’s was the best place for it!
