Two New Treatment Modalities

Trigger Point Dry Needling | Adult Therapy Services

This procedure is used to treat muscular tightness and spasm which commonly occurs following injury or natural degenerative processes. It involves the insertion of small, thin needles into the trigger points located within the muscles. This technique is administered by Woman’s physical therapists to our adult therapy patients.

Common conditions treated with dry needling include:

  • Piriformis syndrome
  • Cervico-genic headaches
  • Sciatica
  • Hamstring issues
  • Groin Strains
  • Patellar femoral syndrome
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Lateral Epicondylitis (tennis elbow)
  • Medial Epicondylitis (golfers elbow)
  • Impingement syndromes

VitalStim Therapy | Speech Therapy Services

This type of therapy is non-invasive and uses an electrical current to stimulate the muscles responsible for swallowing.  It is the only FDA-cleared device for treatment of dysphagia (swallowing difficulty). Woman’s speech therapists are certified to treat pediatric patients with VitalStim Therapy.

Patients with a diagnosis of dysphagia are appropriate candidates for the use of VitalStim Therapy.
Dysphagia is commonly seen in patients with:

  • Developmental Delays
  • Sensory Defensiveness
  • Various Syndromes
  • Neurological Diseases
  • Respiratory Diseases
  • Cardiac Lesions
  • CVA
