We received Louisiana’s first ACR Breast MRI Accreditation
Woman’s Hospital is the first in Louisiana to receive Breast MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Accreditation by the American College of Radiology’s (ACR). ACR accreditation was awarded to Woman’s for its high practice standards following a voluntary, rigorous review that meets nationally-accepted standards; the review included:
- Image quality. Woman’s submitted clinical images and corresponding data for each magnet performing breast MRI examinations at their site.
- Personnel qualifications were conducted to ensure that Woman’s staff are well qualified, through education and certification, to perform and interpret your medical images and administer your radiation therapy treatments
- Adequacy of Woman’s facility equipment to conduct accurate tests or treatments you will receive
- Quality control procedures to ensure that Woman’s exceeds quality assurance and safety guidelines.
The ACR accredits facilities in: Breast ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), mammography, nuclear medicine, positron emission tomography (PET), stereotactic breast biopsy, ultrasound, and radiation oncology.
