BioDr. Brown is a native of Baton Rouge, and he graduated from LSU Medical School - New Orleans in 1978. As a third year student, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He went on to the University of Florida for his residency where he served as chief resident. He was awarded the National Upjohn Award for excellence in medicine. He has 3 daughters and is married to Debbie Brown, who is a nurse. Dr. Brown is board certified by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Special Medical InterestsDr. Brown allows epidurals at any stage of labor, but also supports natural options.
He offers elective inductions and c-sections for those patients who prefer that option.

Dr. Brown has dedicated 30 years of his career to prevention of violence against women. He is the medical director of the Rape Crisis Center, and examines victims of sexual assault for the district attorney’s office. He teaches forensic medical examination at the national level. In 2007 he received the United States Department of Justice Award as the Allied Health Professional of the Year.
