Cancer Care at Woman's goes far beyond medicine. Patients, and their families, are treated with compassion unique to Woman's Hospital. Our team approach to care directly involves the patient and provides women and their families with an opportunity to gain the information needed to make informed decisions about their treatment.

The oncology staff of registered nurses and oncology technicians has extensive experience in the care of women undergoing surgery and treatment for breast, cervical, uterine, ovarian and other gynecological cancers. Our gynecologic cancer services are coordinated by the area's only two board-certified gynecologic oncologists. A supporting team of dietitians, social workers, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, and providers of pastoral care is utilized to address the special needs of our patients.

We offer state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and lab services. Genetic counselors can guide patients through the maze of choices available for cancer genetic susceptibility testing.Inpatient and outpatient services are provided. Services include surgery, chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, symptom management, and patient education as well as care of patients during the end stages of life. Opportunities to participate in clinical trials give women access to the latest cancer treatments. Woman's Hospital participates in the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG), a national research collaborative funded through the National Cancer Institute.
