Respiratory Care is an integral part of the health care team, in collaboration with physicians and nursing personnel in maintaining physiological homeostasis with patient care.

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for respiratory patient care to include neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The modalities in the treatment of pulmonary diseases and advanced critical care procedures include:  Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, High Risk Delivery Attendance, Neonatal Transports, Intubation and Airway Management, Surfactant Therapy, Nitric Oxide Therapy, Mechanical Ventilation/High Frequency Ventilation, Emergency Response (Code Blue Team/Rapid Response Team), Oxygen Therapy, Nebulization Therapy/Medication Administration, Humidity-Aerosol Therapy and  Bronchial Hygiene, Blood Gas/Electrolyte Sampling and Analysis, Breath Hydrogen Testing (lactose, fructose, sucrose, glucose, lactulose), Neonatal Sleep Monitoring/Analysis, Pulmonary Function Testing, Electrocardiograms (EKG), Electroencephalography (EEG), Patient/Family Teaching & Education.

The Respiratory Therapist (RT) is highly skilled Licensed Practitioner, Registered or Certified with current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Annual Staff Competency Performance.
