Preparing for Pregnancy

You’ve decided that now is the time to plan for a baby – congratulations! As you begin this journey toward parenthood, Woman’s Hospital can be your comprehensive resource for information and assistance in preparing for pregnancy.

Because your baby’s organs will begin forming in the first four weeks of pregnancy, possibly even before you know you have conceived, the best way to give your baby a great start is to become physically and emotionally healthy and fit right now! Use the My Pregnancy section of My Woman’s to customize all of our health, fitness and nutrition offerings for your needs.

Visit our online Health Library for articles on preparing for pregnancy, or stop by our “help yourself” Health Information Center located in Woman’s Hospital, where we offer brochures and videotapes on women’s health, maternal and infant care, and family life. Volunteers are available to assist you on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. For more info call Resources for Women at 225-924-8444.

Expectant parents, schedule a tour or call Resources for Women at 225-924-8444.

As you navigate our site, you’ll see content provided by the March of Dimes. We’ve partnered with them to provide you with the most comprehensive information available during this exciting and challenging phase of your life.
